Welcome to Hen Scratch Acres
At Hen Scratch Acres, we specialize in offering Rare, Purebred, and down-right Unique breeds. Crested breeds, feathered leg breeds, and colorful birds. We also have chickens that lay a rainbow of different colored eggs. These are not your common chicken!
We have large breeds like the Standard Cochins, Jersey Gaints, and Brahmas.
We also have Tiny breeds like The bantam Cochins, the silkies, and the rare Olandsk.
Some of the breeds my be hard to find in your area. We have raised chickens for many years. We recently decided to concentrate on rare, unique, and purebred chickens. (We still have our backyard mix for our personal egg supply).
We do offer a few Heritage breeds for those that like traditional.
All of our chickens have been purchased from individual breeders. None have come from hatcheries or stores.
